Welcome, You’re Doing Great
First, I want to say — you’re doing an amazing job!! Being a new parent is tough, even when everything is going well, and if you’re struggling with your emotions, you’re not alone. Many new parents experience overwhelming feelings, whether it’s anxiety, sadness, frustration/irritability or even guilt. It can be hard to admit that things aren’t as perfect as you expected, but I want you to know that there’s no shame in asking for help.
I’m a parent too, and I’ve been through my own challenges when it comes to motherhood. Like you, I’ve felt the highs and the lows—moments of joy and overwhelming stress, moments of self-doubt, and feelings of being completely exhausted. Those difficult times were a big reason I decided to specialize in perinatal mental healthcare. I understand what it’s like to be a new mom, and I’m here to support you through this transformative, but sometimes turbulent, chapter of your life.
Perinatal mental healthcare focuses on the emotional and mental health of women (and men!) during pregnancy and in the months following birth. These are times of immense change, both physically and emotionally. The hormonal shifts, the sleep deprivation, the new responsibilities—it’s all a lot to handle. It’s natural to feel overwhelmed, sad, or anxious, but it’s also important to know that you don’t have to go through this alone.
As a therapist, I use a combination of talk therapy, coping strategies, and practical tools to support new parents. Together, we can work through any emotional challenges you’re facing, so you can start feeling more like yourself again.
The pressures of parenthood are real, and it’s easy to feel isolated or like you’re the only one struggling. I want to reassure you that you are not alone in this. In fact, many people experience mental health struggles during pregnancy or after childbirth. And while this can feel incredibly isolating, help is available, and healing is possible.
There is no shame in needing support. In fact, reaching out for help is one of the most courageous things you can do. This is a time in your life where your mental and emotional well-being should be a priority—because taking care of yourself will help you take better care of your little one.
When we work together, you’ll have a safe space to talk about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. Many moms struggle with:
Adjusting to Your New Role: Becoming a parent is life-changing, and it can bring up unexpected emotions or even a loss of identity. Therapy can help you navigate the transition and find a healthy balance between your new role as a mom and who you are as an individual.
Therapy with me will be a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can express what you’re going through—whether that’s excitement, worry, or frustration. I get that sometimes it feels like you have to “hold it all together” for the sake of your baby or partner, but I want you to know: you don’t have to do this alone, and it’s okay to let your guard down.
I’ll help you identify the specific challenges you’re facing and work with you to develop strategies that will help you feel more confident, connected, and emotionally balanced. You’ll learn practical tools that you can start using right away to improve your mental health, and over time, you’ll notice:
I know that you’re giving everything you have to be the best parent you can be, and I want to remind you that you’re doing great!! If you’re struggling, it doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re human.
If you’re ready to prioritize your mental health and well-being, I’d be honored to support you through this challenging yet beautiful time in your life. Let’s work together to make sure that you not only survive this time but truly thrive in it.
If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing, I’d be honored to support you in your journey. I offer a free consultation so we can talk about what you’re hoping to achieve and how I can help. I’m here to walk with you every step of the way, no matter where you are in your journey.
